Maggie's research focuses on engineering cardiac tissue patches to repair heart function following injury. In collaboration with Christopher Chen's group, her work aims to develop a stem cell-derived cardiac patch that can be surgically implanted onto the heart wall following cardiac injury in a rat model. She is particularly interested in investigating how material and cell composition in the patch integrate within the heart and promote repair.
